Volunteer Engagement InternAt — KidWorks
The Volunteer Engagement Intern is a member of a fun, creative, and driven team focused on furthering the mission and values of KidWorks. This position combines recruitment and communication efforts through substantial engagement. This intern will work with individuals and groups, support events, manage volunteers, and source volunteer recruitment under the direction of the Volunteer Department.
Duties include:
- Interns will assist staff in the day-to-day activities
- Respond to questions from the public and/or volunteer team
- Coordinate special projects and volunteer outings
- Create and update resource materials, reports, and data analyses
- Interact with staff, volunteers, and KidWorks youth
- Collaborate on organizing profile-raising events to attract new volunteers
- Attend committees and meetings
Training:
All students will need to attend a new volunteer orientation and training which will introduce students to KidWorks (mission, vision, values, etc.) along with training on what volunteer opportunities are available and the policies and procedures of KidWorks. Intern will not engage with student but will interact with volunteer members only.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and performance skills by interacting with students, volunteers, and staff.
- Understanding non-profit administration, content development, and program management.
