Looking for highly motivated individuals who love working with youth and want to use their gifts and talents to help mentor, educate and train our next generation of Leaders. Be a part of a winning team that has helped thousands of youth and families over the past 25 years.
Students can assist with after-school activities such as tutoring, facilitating workshops (health/nutrition, financial literacy, college readiness, etc.), and collecting oral histories from YAC alumni.
Students can also assist with YAC Fit for Kids, a supplemental PE program for Camarillo elementary schools
Students at the completion of the term will know how to lead groups of kids in specific tasks or programs. They will have a better understanding of how a non-profit organization operates and how each member of the team has specific roles and responsibilities to help the organization reach its goals and further its mission. Students will have learned the values of character, mentorship and volunteerism.
Ongoing trainings will be administered by the Directors of the programs to ensure students are understanding their roles, responsibilities and can communicate effectively with the kids they serve. Character development and mentorship training will be provided to help them understand how to work with the youth of today. Fundamentals of coaching various sports and how to create fitness programs for groups of kids. Social media opportunities to create content and flyers for programs and website.
Safety is at the foremost interest of our organization, especially in terms of working with our youth.
