Program Volunteer/InternAt — Project Access

Opportunity Summary 

Students will support Project Access in providing health and wellness and educational programming for youth and families living in affordable housing communities. Through hands-on service, students will assist with activities that promote healthy lifestyles, academic enrichment, social-emotional well-being, and family engagement. Students will gain experience working directly with diverse communities while contributing to programs that help residents build skills, knowledge, and confidence.

By the end of this opportunity, students will:

Understand the importance of health, wellness, and prevention within community settings.
Gain experience supporting educational and enrichment activities for youth and families.
Develop communication, teamwork, leadership, and community engagement skills.
Learn how access to resources and educational opportunities can impact individual and family well-being.
Apply classroom knowledge to real-world community needs and service experiences.
Build greater awareness of the strengths, needs, and experiences of diverse families and communities.

Opportunity Training 

Some training will be done hands on with the coordinator, others are informal trainings that will allow interns to shadow and try first hand
