All students shadow someone who has previously worked in the clothes closet. Much of the learning happens through working at the position and receiving guidance from those around them. Students will also be provided with a copy of the volunteer handbook to assist them and answer any questions that may arise.
Students will attend supervision meetings with the Service-Learning leader and/or volunteer coordinator to address questions and concerns and review responsibilities. Students will have a mid-semester check-in with their Service-Learning Leader to provide feedback and ensure they feel supported.
Students may be working unsupervised with minor or other vulnerable populations. Students are working with homeless and housing insecure women who may suffer from addiction or mental illness.
