Opportunity Summary 

BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST

Summary: Behavior Interventionist are responsible for providing Behavioral Therapy to children in a home or school setting. The BI is supervised and follows a Behavioral Plan created by a BCBA. The BI works in conjunction with their Supervisor and other BI’s in the team. The team works together to directly improve behaviors and to meet the goal outlined in the Behavioral Plan.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Provide the best possible care for our patients
Follow instructions outlined by Supervisor
Maintain a professional relationship with families they are serving
Identify and build upon the strengths of patients
Must keep proper session notes
Must keep schedule accurate and up to date
Requirements

Must have 6 months experience working with special needs population
A bachelor’s degree is a plus
Must be willing to drive
Reliable transportation is required
A valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Must pass a DOJ and FBI background check
RBT certificate is a plus
Current TB Test
Physical Demands

Must be able to run after an eloping child
May need to lift up to 30 Lbs.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship the student will have a clear understanding of Applied Behavioral Therapy. It will give students the experience of working with children with Autism.
