Community OutreachAt — Phoenix Arise Organization

The student will report directly to the Founder and President. The student will shadow the Community Outreach Director and Director of Advocacy. Will assist in community outreach events, meetings, and coalition partnerships. Student will assist in various administration tasks with community engagement and retention. Student will learn how to build a curriculum for one of our current programs and revise its effectiveness. Student must attend all team meetings and also one-on-one with the President. At the end of the internship, the student will master the following skills; team building, self-initiative, public speaking, networking, case management, critical thinking, effective team collaboration, and effective verbalization with the team. 

*Text blast to clients.
*Email blast to clients.
*Facilitation of programming.
*Mentorship for clients.
*Case management
*Develop curriculum for new cohort group and revising its effectiveness.
*Mandatory bi-weekly team meetings.
*Mandatory attendance and participation in community events, meetings, and coalition partnerships.
*Assist with Resource Evening Fairs and in-house events.
*Attend and participate in healing retreats for our clients.

Training:

*Mandatory weekly one-on-one meetings.
*Mandatory shadowing of Community Outreach Coordinator and Director of Community Advocacy.
*Mandatory attendance of leadership conferences for restorative justice both for regional and national levels.
*Mandatory safety and compliance training.

Learning Outcomes:

1) Develop and update curriculum.
2) Attend, recruit, and retainment of clients. Attend coalition meetings with community partners.
3) Master self-initiative skills in community meetings/events.
4) Master public speaking skills in bi-weekly program meetings.
