Opportunity Summary 

A Better Tomorrow Education is seeking enthusiastic, qualified and responsible individuals near or in the Anaheim area who can support students in 2nd-6th grade with reading and writing. Tutors will be required to work Monday-Friday from 1:30 PM-4:30 PM. On Wednesday’s, hours are from 12:30 PM-4:30 PM. Responsibilities:

\n

 

\n

Provide support and assistants to our students with reading and writing during Writing Club. All curriculum will be provided to our tutors by A Better Tomorrow Education.

\n

Tutors are responsible for independently instructing lessons for a class of 15-20 children. Provide students with positive and constructive feedback while working under the program manager and regional supervisor. Responsible for maintaining regular communication.

\n

Tutors are responsible for taking daily student attendance and supporting the leadership assistant with various tasks around campus (setups, various clubs, handing out snack, etc.)

\n

Use effective classroom management techniques to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

\n

Assess student progress and provide feedback on their academic performance.

\n

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies for student success.

\n

Utilize instructional resources to enhance student learning.

\n

Experience:

\n

 

\n

-Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.

\n

- Associate's/ Bachelor's degree/ or currently enrolled in school.

\n

- Experience working with elementary school students in a classroom setting but not required.

\n

- Knowledge of basic education principles and practices.

\n

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

\n

- Experience working with students who have special education needs or require additional support is a plus.

\n

Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the school.

Student will conduct daily check ins with students enrolled in program, as well as instruct in classroom setting. Counseling sessions can be included on a weekly basis where tutor and student will engage in monitoring/discussing behavior and how it correlates with their academic progress. Sessions will vary depending on student and site needs.

\n

Training:All staff is required to attend daily meetings prior to services being conducted as well as monthly workshops to go over techniques, psychological concepts, aba topics, etc. 

\n

Learning Outcomes:

\n

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
1. Identify and incorporate psychological methods/theories within the classroom
2.Lead support groups and enhance facilitation skills in an individual and group setting
3. learn how to conduct a proper lesson with the concepts and techniques used in their own class setting/lectures.
