Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for a motivated and organized Sales Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential markets, identifying new business opportunities, and assisting with the development of sales strategies. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, an ability to think strategically, and a passion for developing relationships with potential customers. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain valuable experience in the Food and Beverage field.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential new customers and sort them by different demographics. 
  • Research customer preferences to aid Sales team member in presenting products to potential clients.
  • Learn about various sales techniques and strategies. 
  • Learn about Customer Relationship Management and how to provide excellent customer service, and handle customer inquiries and concerns. 
  • Learn how to prepare shipping documents such as invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading and creating them within a certain timeframe. 

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in marketing, sales, or business development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

This internship is non-paid. Interns must receive college credit to be considered for this position. Interns are expected to be on time to work, be self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease. 

- Check e-mails for sales orders that come from customers overnight or daily.
- Sort new customers from SAP database based on demographic or other category types.
- Research which products within our catalogue fit best based on customer sorting.
- Create business communications so Sales team member can reach out to potential customers and present products.
- Learn how to prepare shipping documents such as invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading and creating them for customer orders at least one day before scheduled pick-up.

Training:

- Begin with employer orientation to do an on-site tour and introduction of team members.
- Provide an overview of the sales department role and start with the basics of sales, including understanding the sales process, terminology, and KPIs
- Cover essential sales skills such as effective communication, market research, objection handling, and follow-up.
- Share our product catalogue and provide one-on-one training sessions on product features, benefits, and customer preferences.
- Familiarize interns with SAP and Pepperi and explain how to generate reports and analyze customer data.
- Conduct regular check-ins daily and provide constructive feedback on intern's performance.

Learning Outcomes:

- Learn various sales techniques and strategies such as product presentations, objection handling, and closing deals.
- Learn about CRM and how to nurture customer relationships, provide excellent customer service, and handle customer inquiries and concerns.
- Develop strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Become proficient in Sales Tools and Technology by using CRM software such as SAP and Pepperi, and email marketing platforms.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market trends.
