Commercial Assurance InternAt — LSL CPAs
• Performs audit, review and compilation (and other accounting) procedures as assigned.
• Reviews transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using LSL computer software programs.
• Reconciles accounts to control accounts.
• Analyzes and performs computations of accruals, property and equipment, depreciation expense, etc.
• Performance of year-end and interim auditing procedures as assigned.
• Bring unusual or significant audit related questions to their direct report.
• Prepares work papers and other accounting reports as directed.
Assurance intern will help in planning for audits and reviews, reconcile accounts to control accounts, prepare account analysis and overall analytics, assist in the preparation of financial statements, and perform testwork for audits.
Training:
Training includes general onboarding, on the job training including working directly with manager or senior on workpapers and testing, and firm updates on upcoming accounting pronouncements.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to perform reviews of transactions and prepare analysis of account variances, reconcile accounts to control accounts, prepare workpapers and other testing documentations as instructed, have a more well rounded knowledge of accounting principles, and understand the impact of industry specific accounting.
