Mental Health Advocacy and Support Program InternAt — Nested Integral Coaching Constellation
Opportunity Summary
Assist with academic research, community partner organization outreach, grant research and writing to secure funding opportunities, and support preparations for virtual peer support group information sessions for a nonprofit that provides trauma-informed coaching and programs to people impacted by interpersonal trauma.
- Conduct a literature review on the practices used in the REPAIR program to contribute to a research poster, research article, and/or blog post for the nonprofit. Edit and revise with peers and submit final research articles/posters for publication.
- Create visual and written materials to represent the REPAIR program in one of several formats for community outreach (full color printed tricolor brochure, full color printed and digital flyers, social media posts and/or slideshow presentations)
- Research and identify well-aligned community partner organizations in California and invite them to REPAIR info sessions.
- Conduct grant research using Foundation Directory to create a grant calendar for the organization.
- Draft a grant proposal to secure funding for the organization.
Training:
- Train interns on community engagement strategies and advocacy efforts to promote mental health awareness.
- Instruct interns on proper documentation procedures, including the creation process of visual marketing materials, grant proposals, and research articles.
- Incorporate self-reflection exercises where intern assesses their own understanding and application of psychological terminology.
- Hold Zoom sessions to guide and provide feedback on intern’s research, writing, designing, and outreach.
- Provide training on basic research methods and data collection techniques to contribute to research projects within the organization.

- Become familiar with practices and psychological processes in mental health and peer support settings.

- Recognizing the role of art, movement, and interactive connection in addressing mental health within different cultural contexts.
- Participate in effective teamwork and collaboration skills by working with the team and coaches within the nonprofit organization
