Early Intervention Behavior TechnicianAt — Footprints Behavioral Interventions - Santa Ana
The RBT works in fast-paced, dynamic, and often intense environments to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment to children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum and related developmental disabilities. The RBT provides clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols in the home, community, and school settings. The treatment is individualized to meet the needs of each child, and used to decrease challenging and aggressive behavior as well as to promote skill acquisition. Areas of focus include communication, social, daily living, independence, self-care, and fine and gross motor. The RBT works in a team environment while working one- on-one with clients carrying out programs designed by a Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCaBA), as well as communicate daily with parents. On-the-job training is provided under the supervision of a Certified Behavior Analyst on the principles and procedures of behavior analysis, data collection procedures, and the implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction interventions. The
RBT will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the BCBA Supervisor, Lead Behavioral Technician, and RBT trainees with clinical assessments as needed.
2. Responsibilities:
a. Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
b. Follow behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as prescribed by the BCBA Supervisor
c. Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training and other self- care protocols
d. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
e. Assist with parent and caregiver training consistent with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
f. Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA Supervisor
g. Use safe and appropriate interaction procedures when working with minor clients
h. Maintain strict client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA regulations
i. Assist the BCBA Supervisor, Lead Behavioral Technician, and ABA trainees with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
j. Assist BCBA Supervisor, Lead Behavioral Technician, and ABA trainees in preparing client reports as instructed
k. Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and family members
l. Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, the BCBA Supervisor, the Lead Behavioral Technician, and ABA trainees, and co-workers
m. Complete all necessary documentation and reports in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the BCBA Supervisor
n. Document billable hours according to Company policy and state and federal regulation
3. Additional Functions
a. Actively participates in the Company’s outreach efforts to the community
b. Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training and development related to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard
c. Follow Company policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as promulgated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
d. Adhere to and advance the mission, vision, and values of Footprints
e. Train and Mentor new RBT candidates and new staff
