Community Programs InternAt — Center for the Pacific Asian Family
Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) was founded to help address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Our mission is to build healthy and safe communities by addressing the root causes and consequences of family violence and violence against women. We are committed to meeting the specific cultural and language needs of Asian and Pacific Islander women and their families.
Our vision is of an Asian and Pacific Islander community that embraces healthy relationships and works in partnership with other communities to eradicate all forms of violence.
Tasks
1. Assess quarterly reports for current impact results and data synthesis
2. Assess current evaluation tools (focus on youth programs, but if capacity allows, also look at intermediate/long term outcome assessments)
3. Leverage in-session opportunities to gather program feedback/evaluation
4. Take notes during sessions - utilizing existing tools and templates
5. Aggregate and Analyze data after program end (and during); share back with teams
Training
1. Co-create work plan and identify relevant opportunities to achieve agreed upon learning objectives
2. Provide orientation to existing monitoring and evaluation tools
3. Integrate the intern into existing program implementation by accompanying field staff
4. Develop a check-in process with intern
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to
1. Conduct analyses to inform program design and improve programs outcomes
2. Compile and present findings to staff
3. Utilize and improve existing monitoring and evaluation systems, processes, and tools
4. Gain familiarity with professional relations and working environment, including communication and coordination
