Opportunity Summary 

Sport Psychology Coaching Position (Orange County)

CORE is looking for psychology and education-minded sports enthusiasts to serve as role-models and aid in our afterschool/sports programs, leagues, camps, and parties. Our small class and camp sizes offer the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the various developmental stages, the inner workings of a child’s mind, and learn how to best communicate concepts in an age-appropriate manner. We believe that no matter how enriching one’s college education has been, there is no substitute for firsthand field experience! Working with children offers the perfect opportunity to improve communication skills and learn how to breakdown and convey advanced concepts in basic, simple language. You will gain valuable work experience in a great environment and guide your career path, while helping the youth of Orange County.

Description:
New coaches are required to assist in day-to-day lesson planning, coordinating logistics, sport tasks, and evaluations for specific lessons, clinics, and camps. As a young, fast growing company, there is always opportunity for quick advancement into our assistant-program leads, program directors, and Upper Management Team! Requirements/Skills:

- Possess a passion for helping people and having a positive impact on people’s lives

- Background in psychology, education, or fitness

- Experience working with children; ages 2 to 10, preferred

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Possess a curiosity for understanding how people work and think

- Understand what it means to be a role-model and have a positive influence on children

- Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times

- Project an active and healthy lifestyle

- Energetic, confident and outgoing personality

- Punctual

- Attend weekly status meetings

- Reliable form of transportation

- Ability to embody CORE Mission and Philosophy, build CORE Brand awareness and maintain CORE brand loyalty
- Must perform moderate physical activity including participation in demonstrations, games, and drills
- Regularly handle equipment and carry or lift up to 50 lbs

Desired, but Not Required:
- Experience playing sports: basketball, soccer, baseball, football, or lacrosse preferred

- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification

Training:

in-person coach mentorship and training, check-in assignments, weekly communication with supervisor, meeting with the President of CORE

Learning Outcomes:

work with children of different ages and abilities, develop public speaking skills, and develop creative ways to motivate children to be active
