Working knowledge of child guidance principles and practices, basic academic subjects.
Ability to learn the special needs, problems and requirements of students.
Assist teacher with instruction and related activities, of the assigned learning environment and operate instructional equipment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Record-keeping techniques.
Understand and acclimate to the various teacher's routine in order to provide additional classroom support.
Work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills.
Assist with maintaining records of students' daily progress
Assist with parent communication.
Support and document students' growth and progress towards academic goals.
Preparing and using the correct curriculum and grade level for students,
Create lesson plans for each student on a weekly basis,
Gather academic data and supply sufficient materials for students,
Attend an IEP meeting (with parent's permission)
Training:
Weekly one on one mentor meetings
Job shadow and learn the curriculum being used
Meet an hour a day with teacher for skills training
Learning Outcomes:
Asses students for progress
Create daily lesson plans
Prepare curriculum for students
