Opportunity Summary 

As an intern, you will be expected to complete one major project (details to follow), meet with your supervisor at least once a month to do a self-assessment/receive feedback, and identify your strengths/areas of growth to both utilize and find ways to improve as a person/professional. As an intern, you will also be expected to: \u25cf Support an Advocate at a high school once a week (location will vary and transportation to and from location will be the intern's responsibility). \u25cb Promote dual enrollment classes to recruit prospective students which includes leading application and registration workshops \u25cb Process paperwork that includes special admits, sign-in sheets, name change forms, etc. \u25cb Educate and familiarize students with the matriculation steps such as application, orientation, student educational plan, and registration. \u25cf Assist the Jump Start to College Program on campus \u25cb Provide campus tours to local high schools \u25cb Assist with the implementation of the SuperStrong Assessment \u25cb Conduct presentations on student services and the different higher education systems. \u25cf Provide necessary assistance with office and day-to-day tasks \u25cb Creating flyers and social media posts \u25cb Editing and updating forms and presentations \u25cb Process paperwork, file them in their respective areas and track student progress \u25cf Other duties and tasks assigned

Training:

Interns will receive a hands on training of protocols and procedures of a normal work day. They will also recieve an in-depth powerpoint presentation on office norms, expectations, and an overview of general rules and regulations. In their first weeks, interns will mostly be shadowing either in the office or at a local high school. They will then meet with a supervisor at lest once a month to do a self assessment along with receive feedback from the supervisor based on the feedback they have received from the people the intern has worked with.

Learning Outcomes:

SWiBAT understand and implement the matriculation process at Community College through high touch one on one and small group interactions at local high schools.
SWiBAT conduct presentations on advantages of higher education, career education, and the differences between various higher education institutions
SWiBAT process necessary paperwork for dual enrollment so student can take free classes at their respective high schools and understand the pros and cons of taking said classes.
