Community Resource Counselor InternAt — California Family Life Center

Community Resource Counselor Intern provides case management and coordination of, or referral to community resources and services for kinship care families, parent education support ,  job training assistance  for foster youth, juvenile justice involved youth. 

Tasks
Provides case management, support services assist in organizing workshops, data collection, assessments, community outreach techniques

Training
Training includes weekly scheduled one -on-one mentor meetings, case management objectives and goals of clients, outreach techniques for community resources and services, assisting with parent education program Strengthening Families evidence based program, and job training program for vulnerable youth. Trauma Informed approaches to working with vulnerable populations to include Motivational Interviewing.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship the student will be able to conduct assessment of need for individuals, utilize evidence based curriculums for parent education, identify community resources to benefit individuals served, utilize trauma- informed care principles.
