Behavior TechnicianAt — Behavior Frontiers
You will provide 1:1 ABA therapy in various settings such as in the home, school, center, or community. Using research-based methods you will:
- Teach individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce any inappropriate behaviors.
- Collect data to demonstrate each client’s progress toward reaching his or her goals!
- Analyze data by using our proprietary electronic data collection software for real time decision-making.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, the client’s family, and other technicians at clinical team meetings to report client progress and get specific feedback from the supervisor.
Training
Initial Office Training (watch videos on ABA topics, participate in role play and group discussions)
Pass a field training competency checklist (perform ABA skills with clients at their homes)
Ongoing monthly supervision on each case you are assigned to
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to present a rich number of learning opportunities throughout a session, including opportunities for generalization/maintenance of acquired skills into the natural environment (when applicable), provide parent education/training (at the direction of the manager/supervisor), use ABA strategies (e.g., preference assessments, differential reinforcement), demonstrate IOA (interobserver agreement) accuracy, manage maladaptive behaviors appropriately and according to the behavior intervention plan while remaining calm and neutral
