To qualify for these positions, applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to public interest or service, along with empathy for elderly, disabled, and low-income populations. Attention to detail, excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills are also essential qualifications. Bilingual applicants are particularly valued and preferred due to the diverse communities Bet Tzedek serves.
By participating in Bet Tzedek's summer clerkship program, law students and undergraduate volunteers have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities, while also acquiring invaluable skills and experiences that will shape their future careers in the legal field.

• Providing general information and referrals to other legal and social services agencies: Offering guidance and information about available resources to individuals seeking assistance.
