Community Nourishment Assembly Line WorkerAt — MEND - Meet Each Need with Dignity

Opportunity Summary 

You will be assisting MEND in preparing Food Kits filled with healthy produce that are being distributed to the community. Assist with intake of clients receiving food during our modified food distribution. Will be assigned our walk-in clients. Help with setting up food stations, distributing food, and cleaning up the food stations. Communicate any important message to the client as necessary.  Requirement: must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. 

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have learned essential communication skills, essential team work skills, and will have helped eliminate food insecurity in our local community.

Opportunity Training 

students will be trained in food distribution to ensure the students know the safe procedures on how to set up food stations, distribute the food, and safely clean food stations. Students will also be trained in our registration/intake process where they will be trained on what information we need from the clients to sign them up for our services.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Closed toed nonslip shoes are required, gloves and masks are provided onsite, and first day safety training will also be provided.
