MSW and MFT InternshipsAt — Seneca
Seneca’s mission is to help children and families through the most difficult times of their lives. We are driven by the fundamental belief that children and families do not themselves fail, but rather are failed by systems unable to meet their complex needs. Guided by our core agency values of love and compassion, hope and courage, respect, curiosity, joy, equity and justice Seneca refuses to fail the young people and families we serve. We offer each child and family a profound promise: you will be supported every step of your journey, no matter what challenges you face along the way.
By the end of the internship, MSW and MFT students will have worked directly with youth and families, completed assessments and treatment plans, documented services, and will be ready to launch careers as associate clinicians on the path to licensure.
All interns begin with Seneca's two-week (M-F 9am-5:30pm) New Employee Orientation as an initial onboarding to Seneca's work with youth and families, our clinical model, and our safety protocol. Then, interns transition into the specific program for their internship (outpatient, school-based, partial hospitalization, etc), where they receive specialized training in their program model and population, and shadow experienced clinicians as they build their caseload.
COVID vaccination is required with only very specific exceptions. Interns are trained to ensure safety in the milieu and/or community.
