Children's Services includes Resource Family Approval, Adoption, Emergency Response Court, Emergency Response Investigations, Permanent Placement, Family Visitation Center, Family Reunification, and Family Maintenance, Prevention and Early Intervention (Engagement and Empowerment Unit), Adult Services may include Adult Protective Services, but is not Title IV-E.
job shadowing, digital training, and various specialized training provided through regional academy, depends on role but possibly core training for either CWS or APS. There are numerous training opportunities but depends on placement and time of placement, therefore, unable to detail every training opportunity. Interns receive training through participation in R.E.D. team meetings, case consultations and Group Supervision to enhance critical thinking and enhanced knowledge of the job and roles.
Social workers in this field are required to perform urinalysis testing, conduct home visits in low socio-economic areas, in locations where there is known criminal activity. Are required to interact with people who have criminal backgrounds or may be committing crimes, those with unpredictable mental illnesses.
