Come be a part of our rewarding journey in fostering a love for learning and personal growth!
Volunteering at our elementary school is a transformative experience that offers numerous learning outcomes. Volunteers will gain a deeper understanding of diverse teaching methods, classroom dynamics, and child development across various age groups, from Transitional Kindergarten to 6th grade. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in fostering a positive learning environment, honing organizational and time-management skills, and adapting to the unique needs of each student. Volunteers will take away a sense of fulfillment and pride in contributing to the academic and personal growth of young minds, many of whom have little to no support at home. The exposure to different educational challenges will enhance problem-solving abilities and creativity. Additionally, this experience fosters a greater appreciation for the importance of community engagement and the profound impact that individuals can have on shaping a child's educational journey. As a volunteer, you'll leave with a wealth of skills, a broader perspective on education, the satisfaction of knowing you've played a vital role in shaping the future, and lots of hugs and high-fives.
Student Volunteers will collaborate closely with teachers, receiving training on the tasks and responsibilities involved in working with students.
If you can dedicate at least four hours per week, we welcome your assistance in classrooms. Whether you have a preference for working with younger Kindergarten students or older 5th and 6th graders, or anyone in between, we can accommodate your choice. You will need to contact the school principal to set up a schedule. The online volunteer application must be completed. This includes uploading a current TB test.
