Opportunity Summary 

Arrives promptly daily.
Assists the headteacher in the preparation and maintenance of a clean aesthetic environment; protects the safety and well-being of the children.
Understands and promotes the school’s mission, goals and objectives, and policies to parents in a positive and supportive manner.
Shows professional conduct by respecting student confidentiality, cooperating with staff members, working out differences in a mature, reasonable manner, and communicating unresolved concerns with the director.
Assists in the preparation of curriculum materials as directed.
Repairs materials and equipment as necessary or directed.
Supervises classroom and playground as directed by the headteacher.
Assists with the maintenance of the inventory in the classroom.
Assists with the maintenance of current, accurate classroom records.
Reports and records problems and refers parents to the headteacher and/or the director.
Attends staff meetings (as and when requested) and participates as an active team member.
Participates in professional development activities and shares information with staff.
Annually completes employee self-evaluation.

Daily supervision of the classroom
Assist the lead teacher on the daily tasks
Participate in various events throughout the year

Training:

The intern will work under the supervision of a master teacher, participate in the planning and execution of the curriculum, attend weekly school-wide staff meetings, etc.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship the student will be able to:
Carry out the responsibilities of the daily happenings of an elementary classroom
Make a yearly plan of instruction
Work and collaborate with a team of educators
Apply discipline techniques
