Opportunity Summary 

Psychologists tasks in the  rehab center include:

  1. Assessment and Diagnosis:

    • Conducting psychological assessments to understand the client's mental health, emotional state, and cognitive functioning.
    • Diagnosing mental health disorders or conditions that may be impacting the individual's ability to function.

  2. Treatment Planning:

    • Developing personalized treatment plans based on the assessment, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
    • Establishing therapeutic goals and objectives for the individual's rehabilitation.

  3. Individual and Group Therapy:

    • Providing one-on-one therapy sessions to address specific issues and support the client's recovery.
    • Facilitating group therapy sessions to promote peer support, sharing experiences, and learning coping strategies.

    • Non of the therapies will be leaded by students not even be alone. They are all supervised, they will be able to suggest from their own knowledge suggestions. 

  4. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team:

    • Working closely with medical professionals, social workers, occupational therapists, and other team members to provide comprehensive care.
    • Participating in case conferences and treatment planning meetings.

Conduct Comprehensive Assessments:

Administer and score standardized psychological assessments for clients with various rehabilitation needs.
Compile and analyze assessment data to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions.
Draft comprehensive assessment reports, integrating findings with relevant psychological theories.

Develop and Implement Treatment Plans:

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to contribute psychological insights to individualized treatment plans.
Implement therapeutic interventions based on established treatment plans.
Monitor and adjust treatment strategies in response to clients' progress and evolving needs.
Facilitate Group Therapy Sessions:

Plan and lead group therapy sessions addressing common rehabilitation challenges (e.g., addiction recovery, coping with chronic illness).
Manage group dynamics, foster a supportive environment, and facilitate discussions on relevant topics.
Utilize various therapeutic techniques to engage group members and promote positive outcomes.
Engage in Crisis Intervention:

Respond to and manage crises or emergencies, following established protocols.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a coordinated and timely response to critical situations.
Provide immediate support and follow-up care for individuals experiencing crises.
Collaborate Effectively in a Multidisciplinary Team:

Participate in regular team meetings, contributing psychological perspectives to case discussions.

Individualized Goal Setting and Progress Review:

Set individualized learning goals in collaboration with the mentor and periodically review progress.

Observational Learning and Reflective Discussions:

Shadow experienced psychologists during assessments, therapy sessions, and team meetings.

Hands-On Workshops and Skills Training:

Participate in workshops on the administration and interpretation of specific psychological assessment tools.

Case Studies and Simulations:

Analyze and present case studies, applying theoretical knowledge to practical rehabilitation scenarios.
