Opportunity Summary 

Fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in marketing and management!

Fullerton Collaborative seeks an enthusiastic and community-minded intern to learn about and assist in marketing and strategic planning of collaborative efforts addressing homelessness, education, health & wellness, and at-risk youth in the city of Fullerton.

Tasks will be developed during the internship based on the students interests and our needs. Examples include:

  • Development of Communication to citywide database via MailChimp
  • Develop Social Media plan to communicate to nonprofits, educators, and other organizations serving the community
  • Facilitate meetings and engaging residents in content areas
  • Delivery of social media and marketing to the residents in the City of Fullerton
  • Share stories of success in collaboration around homelessness, education, health & wellness, and at-risk youth.
  • Coordinate updates of company website and integrate in social media platform
  • Assist in the North Orange County Move More Eat Healthy virtual campaign
  • Assist in the Fullerton Community Foundation development and marketing
  • Assist in marketing events with the City of Fullerton; Love Fullerton, and North OC Chamber events.

Intern is expected to:

  • Attend Virtual Monthly General Meetings (2nd Monday of each month at Fullerton Public library)
  • Attend Virtual Board Meetings (2x) to gather input from board
  • Attend Virtual Subcommittee meetings (dates to be determined) to assist in the marketing and communication of resources to community
  • Meet directly with the Executive Director to work toward developed Fullerton Collaborative Strategic Plan (on CSUF campus and virtually)

 

Training:

Weekly virtual supervision or in-person on CSUF campus
Training on the different levels of leadership and time management
Orientation at the beginning of semester with other interns for overview of assigned tasks

Learning Outcome:

Learn networking tools to be effective with local non-profits, education, and business organizations in Fullerton.

Learn and develop skills for marketing and understand the impact in community development.

Develop strong oral presentation skills for individual meetings and larger groups.

Learn collaborative model and apply in personal and professional life.

Deliver presentation to board on outcomes of the events.
