Student Intern or Student TeacherAt — Weekday Preschool
We are a part-time preschool literally around the corner from CSUN. We have trained student interns/teachers for over 20 years. Each college student will be assigned to one of our 9 classrooms for the entire semester. You will engage with and supervise preschool age children under the mentorship of a lead teacher. You will learn to create lesson plans and prepare materials/equipment. We will teach you how to conduct purposeful play learning activities with the children and interact with family members/gaurdians. You will help maintain the health and safety of all children and assist them with personal activities such as snack time.
By staying in the same classroom the whole semester, you will learn how to interact with children on their level, problem solve with preschoolers to guide them in the correct direction, see classroom dynamics and what is involved in being a teacher.
Training is provided on the job. It is much easier to teach while the children are present.
We have a high rate of hiring our student teachers when positions become available. So unpaid internships can turn into a paid position.
