Opportunity Summary 

Roles and Responsibilities: Greet and register new and returning families, offer families referrals and resources, engage in developmentally appropriate play and learning opportunities, program planning, implementation and evaluation of programs, Storytime, music and movement, facilitate outdoor Activities, organize toys and materials and other duties as needed. Additionally, students will engage in Team project planning and implementation; Child Development; Family Support; Arts and Recreation Activities; Event planning and support

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the experience, students will have an understanding of the breadth and depth of work that we do at CDI, identify family strengths and challenges, be able to offer families critical resources and supports, receive training about early childhood development and how to support parent and child relationships, learn about careers working with young children and families and receive mentoring from professional staff and student mentors from community colleges and universities

Opportunity Training 

Initial orientation training prior to starting service learning internship-ongoing hands-on training on site.
