Departments include Health & Human Services, Information Services, Sheriff, Probation, District Attorney, Planning, Public Works, Parks, Elections, Personnel, Assessor, Auditor- Controller- Treasurer- Tax Collector, Agricultural Extension, County Administrative Office, and numerous others.

Program Information

Teen Health Outreach serves youth in Santa Cruz County by promoting healthy relationships, reducing unplanned pregnancy, and preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with local youth advisory boards to gather their feedback and improve systems  
  • Become a member of Youth Access Coalition, a coalition that brings community partners to build capacity for and access to youth-friendly confidential health care.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate health education to middle and high school students. 
  • Engage with community to provide health information and resources

At this time, it's an unpaid internship opportunity.

All necessary training will be provided. Trainings will include sexual health curriculums and county required trainings.

Hours of operation 

The position requires a commitment to work 6 to 8 hours a week over 1-3 days, occasionally some evenings and weekends. Work is completed mostly in person in Watsonville (remote work is possible) usually between the hours of 8 AM to 3 PM. Summer hours encouraged.
