Organization Description

The Mariposa County Arts Council, Inc. (MCACI) is an incorporated non-profit organization and our mission is to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County. Our work involves arts education programs, public arts events and creative placemaking projects, as well as community partnership and arts policy. All our efforts are designed to enrich Mariposa economically, socially, and culturally, and to serve our County’s diverse communities.

Program Information

The students intern role will be a Youth Behavioral Support Responder in an outdoor arts and science summer camp. The student will complete 7 trainings and participate in the collaborative planning of a behavioral support response plan. The student will be responsible for giving youth assessments, communicating with staff the youth needs identified. The intern will provide youth behavioral health support through intervention, deescalation and restorative practices, community communication and resources/referrals. The student intern will be provided a framework to respond that aligns with SW 5040 - Foundation Practicum Learning Plan and 9 Competencies & Practice Behaviors.
