Opportunity Summary 

- Become an autonomous TV News Producer that can make professional segments/shows from pre - to post-production in a professional manner
- Research and pitch stories and headlines
- Write and edit scripts under deadline
- Identify, research, book & pre-interview guests
- Select compelling audio, video, and graphics to enhance stories and headlines
- Provide show briefs to hosts, producers, and crew
- Edit content for web and post stories to the website
- Follow news developments throughout the day
- Help maintain an editorial calendar
- Write and edit scripts for television programs and promotions
- Assist in research and collect data for television programming and shows
- Generate new story and news topics in cooperation with volunteers and staff
- Assist in location and field productions
- Assist with office administration duties and coordinate volunteer data
- Assist with recruitment of production crew and student volunteers
- Work with editors to ensure productions are completed in a timely and cost effective manner
- Assist with interaction with community & university groups in developing and implementing local productions
- Assist with creating original programming concepts
- Other duties as assigned

This internship provides a great experience for students to learn about television and video production, work ethic in a creative field, news & story telling techniques as well as opportunity to create a demo-reel and portfolio.

-Assist in writing scripts

-Produce Talk Show, news programs and segments

Training:

- Comprehensive policy & guideline orientation
- Multiple hands-on workshop training days
- Additional training days specific to job title
- Crewing on 30+ live broadcast shows throughout semester

Learning Outcomes:

- Become an autonomous TV Producer that can make professional segments/shows from pre - to post-production in a professional manner
- Work with Production Coordinator and coordinate crew to be sure that all elements of story coverage and final editing are done properly and in a timely manner
- Attain leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
