Adaptive Fitness InternAt — BC Adaptive Fitness
Adaptive fitness training for people with disabilities through online training and in-person training.
1. One-on-one coaching and training
2. Show up 30 minutes prior to a fitness class for setup and routine breakdown
3. Attend at least 2 in-person group training classes
4. Attend any and all virtual meetings to prompt healthy living
5. Log daily exercise routines
6. Note-taking during class
Training:
1. Once a month training to go over proper muscle form and verbal cues used for adaptive fitness.
2. Hands-on training with athletes
3. Mentorship from college graduates and Kinesiology master's alumni.
Learning outcomes:
Have a better understanding of working alongside people with intellectual/physical disabilities.
Greater knowledge to execute proper exercise techniques for people with intellectual/physical disabilities.
Promote health through physical training and collaborate with like-minded professionals.
Shifts: Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday (AFTERNOONS). Saturday (MORNINGS).
