Organization Description

The mission of the San Marcos Democratic Club is to encourage Democratic values through public support of the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party agenda, and Democratic candidates. And to mobilize and inspire local citizens and voters to volunteer in grassroots activism through both political campaigns and local community action programs.

This is a mostly remote internship. Hours are flexible. However, the intern will need to attend the monthly in person club meetings (2nd Saturday of each Month) in San Marcos, the monthly online SMDC Board Meeting, an additional monthly online subcommittee meeting, and a weekly online check in meeting with the SMDC support person for the internship. The intern will also attend in person ‘meet up’ events at a local venue such as a coffee shop designed to attract young people interested in local politics.
