Opportunity Summary 

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for a social Intern to work hand-in-hand with the CEO to translate Cinemauto’s voice into social media posts, email newsletters, and recap videos. You will come up with and create content for our platforms and “We See You” series - photos, video, and graphics. 

You’ll grow and cultivate the Cinemauto community via social platforms, partnerships, and artist, maker, and filmmaker relationships. 

This is a non-paid, internship with flexible hours (minimum of 10 hours per week) to reflect your college credit requirements. The position will be from our dreamy creative workspace at The Preserve in Hollywood. 

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Build from the ground up: As part of a tiny team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute dynamic new content ideas and help bring them to life!

    • Hours: This is an internship position (10-15 hours/week) and we’ll want to make the most of it! Get ready to think big, work hard, and be inspired. 
    • Strategize content + press strategy: Working closely with our CEO/ Creative Strategist, you’ll help drive both strategy and execution across channels- from social media management to newsletter copy. You’ll constantly be creatively ideating, implementing new strategies, and social content plans for growth, supporting cross-channel marketing efforts, and promoting our events. 

  • Drive community strategy: We want to hear from you about tactics,  influencers, and brands we should be collaborating with and help make them happen.
  • Bring Cultural Experiences to Life: Working closely with our experiential lead, you’ll assist in capturing our programming, filmmakers, artists, culinary creatives, and events and learn about bringing brands to life in a culturally relevant way.

  • You have a professional, positive attitude, great personality, excellent communication skills, and are ready for creative ideation contribution 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, and other social media channels
  • Experience in content creation via TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, for optimal reach.
  • Experience in identifying creative influencers and/or brands- artists, filmmakers, makers
  • Knowledge of partnership outreach- people, brands, B2B, nonprofits, filmmakers.
  • Ability to take direction, but also be proactive, self-motivated,  have an entrepreneurial can-do spirit
  • Love for and familiarity with the Cinemauto brand + community
  • Experience with WordPress, Mailchimp, Photoshop, and Indesign to make programming updates to website and marketing materials as needed 
  • Fluency in organizing, managing, and tracking  data and managing communications 
  • Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office (Excel) 
  • Must be eligible to receive academic credit from your college or university
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time college student working towards your Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. 

Tasks:

- Research
- Ideation + development of content ideas to shine a light on filmmakers, artists, and makers who are a part of event programming
- Onsite content capture
- Learn how to create a content calendar to showcase Cinemauto's identity & culture
- Social promotion on various platforms for maximum exposure

Training:

Through this immersive training, students will not only gain hands-on experience but also be a part of a team dedicated to creating thoughtful, culturally rich experiences that amplify diverse voices and celebrate the art of storytelling through film, community, art, and culture.

General Employer Orientation:
Introduction to Cinemauto’s mission, values, clients, and operational procedures to ensure a smooth and inspiring start.

Daily One-on-One Mentor Meetings: Engage in regularly scheduled meetings with the CEO or a designated mentor to discuss progress, brainstorm ideas, recap what they learned, and set creative goals.

Job Shadowing: Observe and learn from seasoned professionals in various roles to gain insights into daily operations and innovative best practices.

Workshops/Skills Training: Participate in targeted skills training sessions designed to develop specific competencies relevant to our creative and strategic tasks.

Provision of Work Samples: Access exemplary work samples to guide and inspire the creation of impactful, high-quality content that resonates with our audience.

Overview/Contextualization of Assigned Tasks: Receive weekly detailed explanations and contextualization of assigned tasks (via Google Doc) to ensure clarity, purpose, and alignment with our mission to foster inclusive storytelling.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
- Create and manage social media content, email newsletters, and recap videos for brands and companies.
- Cultivate and grow the Cinemauto community through social media, partnerships, and relationships with artists, makers, brands, and filmmakers.
- Strategize and execute content and press strategies across various channels.
- Assist in capturing and promoting cultural experiences, events, and collaborations.
- Utilize research, organizational, and communication skills in a professional setting.
- Gain hands-on experience with social media platforms, content creation, and influencer outreach.
- Develop skills in website and marketing material updates using WordPress, Mailchimp, and Photoshop.
- Manage data and communications using Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
- Earn college credit through practical, real-world experience in a creative workspace.
