Social Work Intern At — Escondido Education COMPACT

Opportunity Summary 

Social Work interns will be under the supervision of the Social Work and Clinical Services Director. They will be trained and expected to assist in the facilitation of individual counseling sessions and group counseling sessions as well as Psycho-Educational Classes and Workshops including but not limited to: Gender Specific Groups LGBTQR+ Groups Parenting Workshops Anger Management Workshops Substance Abuse Workshops Decision Making Workshops Emotional Regulation and Support Workshops Anti Bullying Workshops Anti-Theft Workshops Anti-Graffiti/Vandalism Workshops Goal Setting Workshops Healthy Relationship Workshops This position includes assisting both in the office and in the field (school sites) in order to gain well rounded experience. Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Develop clinical skills and competencies by gaining training and utilizing evidence based interventions. Learning to differentiate and apply trauma informed and evidence based interventions to the population I work with. Enhance my communication and clinical terminology in multidisciplinary team work and treatment planning. Maintain currency with new and emerging treatment models through continued education and training and process in clinical supervision.

Opportunity Training 

Interns will be trained and guided by staff on each task assigned. Staff will also check for understanding. In addition, Intern will also have the opportunity to attend a monthly training geared towards building skills on how to best work with program participants. These trainings include but are not limited to: Curriculum Introduction Group Facilitation Mandated Reporter Policies and Procedures: Transportation Check ins and Check outs Case Note Recording
