Case Management InternAt — H.O.P.E (Helping Other People Excel)

Opportunity Summary 

The student will work primarily as a volunteer coordinator. The student will help assist in the weekly food pantry and learn and assist with case management notes. 

Tasks:
• Increase verbalization with the specified client population and learn to write and use case notes.
• Learn conflict resolution skills and how to access appropriate client resources.
• The student will learn to identify and intervene in dangerous/crisis situations. The student will learn the political and organizational system.

Training:

The student will learn to develop a professional demeanor, take initiative, be self motivated, when to ask for direction, how to take direction, develop and identify professional work ethic, and assume responsibility for acquiring knowledge.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to to understand our diverse client populations, how to access appropriate community resources for clients, the political and organizational system, and the basics of case notes.
