Job Summary:
Damore Mental Health Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in our residential mental health facility. The Behavioral Health Technician will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients with mental health disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being, and assisting with the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities: Observe and Report
- Client Care and Support:
- Monitor clients’ behavior and document observations in client records.
- Support clients in developing and achieving their treatment goals.
- Safety and Security:
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
- Conduct regular safety checks and monitor clients to prevent self-harm or harm to others.
- Treatment Plan Implementation:
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement individualized treatment plans.
- Encourage and support clients in participating in therapeutic and recreational activities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, behaviors, and progress.
- Report any significant changes in client behavior or condition to the clinical team.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on client care.
- Professional Development:
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
- Stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and residential care.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach to client care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent preferred.

Description of Tasks for Behavioral Health Technician Internship at Damore Mental Health Care
The following duties will be performed by the student(s) to demonstrate the achievement of the learning outcomes:
1. Client Care and Support:
o Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
o Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, fostering a therapeutic and supportive environment.
o Engage in active listening and empathetic communication to build rapport with clients.
2. Safety and Crisis Intervention:
o Conduct regular safety checks and monitor clients to ensure a safe and secure environment.
o Implement de-escalation techniques and respond to crises or emergencies according to established protocols.
o Document and report any incidents or significant changes in client behavior to the clinical team.
3. Implementation of Treatment Plans:
o Collaborate with clinical staff to understand and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
