Admin InternAt — Trauma Therapy CA
With this position, the intern will be immersed into a private practice setting. The intern will be able to access records, sit in on clinical meetings, and learn everything there is to know about a private practice. This position targets psychology students who are looking to understand all the inner workings of a private practice.
1. Students will be able to do office tasks such as billing, answering the phone, de-escalating potential callers in major distress, and responding to clinician and client emails.
2. Students will be able to communicate with clinicians and other staff members while complying with HIPAA.
3. Students will be able to preform assigned tasks by clinicians and other staff members independently such as scheduling appointments and intakes, sending correct forms to clients, creating new forms into our system, and filing documents.
4. Students will be able to participate and understand the information in clinical meetings. This is done by listening to cases brought up by the clinician and troubleshoot on effective treatment.
Training:
The intern will first go through a HIPAA training and sign a form that lists them under our HIPAA agreement. Then, the intern will meet with Dr. Debora Jason and Ms. Jenna Webb in order to go over expectations and have an orientation of the office and what being our intern entails.
Learning Outcomes:
1. By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to understand the inner working of a private practice and therapy office.
2. By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to preform office duties that come with working in a private practice.
3. By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to understand HIPAA within an office setting.
4. By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to understand and participate in clinical meetings.
