Opportunity Summary 

ASSISTANT COORDINATOR

\n

This position is an entry-level position available for either full-time or part-time and is ideal for a student studying and interested in social services. The job offers real hands-on experience, training, and exposure to the field of social services. The assistant coordinator is responsible for ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently for all departments. Tasks and duties include but are not limited to:

ADMINISTRATION

\n

    \n
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, check emails, send faxes and other assigned administrative duties.
  • \n

  • Process and file incoming and outgoing invoices.
  • \n

  • Maintain company calendar, scheduled staff meetings, and all other company agendas. 
  • \n

\n

Department Support 

\n

Domestic Violence Case Management Department 

\n

    \n
  • Schedule counseling sessions, and send appointment reminders, resources, and community event flyers to participants.
  • \n

  • Maintain a neat and organized client filing cabinet, as well as handle and file confidential client information.
  • \n

\n

Food Pantry Department 

\n

    \n
  • Oversee food pantry orders, volunteers, schedule, and success of distribution. 
  • \n

  • Complete and submit annual/monthly/weekly reports, logs, and documentation.
  • \n

\n

The students will be completing several tasks involving work both directly and indirectly with clients. These tasks include but are not limited to:

\n

ADMINISTRATION

\n

Training:

- General employee orientation (mandatory)
- Job shadowing ( 40+ hours)
- Weekly check-in meetings
- Provision of work samples
- Skill training workshops
