Tasks

-sending invoices and statements after it has been processed by insurance companies
-follow up on insurance claims
-inputting patient and insurance payments (copays, balances, purchase of product, or medical procedures)
-answering phone calls
-assisting patients with scheduling appointments, paying their bill, or answering questions regarding prescription or billing questions
-communicating with insurance companies to follow up on payments
-ensuring patient claims are received by insurance companies in a timely manner.
-scheduling appointments for patients according to doctor availability
-explaining intake form to new patients
-processing payments after treatment

Training:

-shadowing doctors to know procedures that is offered to patients
-general employer orientation
-introduction to staff and providers
-workplace violence prevention training
-learning the system of med 2000
-going over job responsibilities as well as provider schedules throughout the week

Learning Outcome:

\n

-effective communication with provider, staff, patients and insurance companies
-understanding the revenue cycle with insurance claims
-multitasking and working with other staff members (organizational skills with communication)
