Coastline College Counseling Intern (Spring 2025)At — Coastline Community College
Interns will assist Coastline's Counseling Office with efforts to strengthen student success, engagement, and retention.
Job responsibilities include:
Work directly with students to build community engagement and explain counseling offerings and functions.
Research resources and support needed by students to support their retention and academic success.
Develop marketing and communication tools
Assist with data collection, review, and analysis
Assist with workshops and other materials that support student success related to academic engagement, career, and transfer.
Tasks:
Interns will work directly with me and my staff. They will not be left alone at any time with students.

Outreach to specific student populations to provide academic and other support
Research resources and support needed by students to support their retention and academic success.

Attend counselor meetings to learn about current issues and best practices
Training:
General employer orientation, weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor and supervision meetings, job shadowing and coaching, presentation coaching and training, provision of ppt/presentation/and other workshop/communication examples, overview of assigned tasks and projects

Describe and implement strategies for developing organizational partnerships
