Opportunity Summary 

Community Mental Health Internship: 

Living Success Center is a community mental health nonprofit that works to provide low cost mental health regardless of social or economic status. Established in 1994, our center works to provide quality, comprehensive mental health services to individuals/couples/families with limited or no access to such services.

We are looking for a part time intern position to assist the center in community outreach, social media, and client intake work. As an intern, you will work directly with our Clinical Director in identifying and collaborating with our local community to gain more awareness of our services. You would also assist in contacting clients and conducting intake interviews.

The internship would require approximately 5 hours per week in a hybrid format. The intern may have to meet with local community members in order to assist with community outreach.

Tasks:

Intern would -
Develop & implement an online marketing plan - including posting clips to social media
Develop & implement a plan to build awareness in community
Return potential client calls & determine needs                                                Assist in contacting clients and conducting intake interviews                              

Training:

Provide onboarding Orientation
One on one training with supervisor and other clinical technicians
They will always be supervised with clinical director or a clinical technicians
With supervision, we will provide scripts for intern to use while answering the phone providing information.
Outreach training will consist of attending Psychology tradeshows with technicians

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to understand marketing of a mental health center. Develop a comfort level working with people struggling with mental distress. Build relationships within the communities of Santa Ana & surrounding area. As well as developing marketing goals, understanding levels of mental assistance, experience work within a clinic setting.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Intern will be 20% remote and the rest in person at the agency.
While remote, intern will retrieve intake voicemails. At the end of each day, intern will check-in with supervisor. If there are urgent issues that need professional attention, intern will contact supervisor during the day as needed.<\/p>
