AASPP VolunteerAt — The Asian American Studies Pathways Project

Opportunity Summary

The Asian American Studies Pathways Project (AASPP) is the sole student service initiative at CSUN to address the unique needs of Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi-American (APIDA) students. Founded in 2017, our CQF-funded program aims to increase student success, sense of belonging, and a strong Ethnic Studies culture.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

Develop an internship program (AASPP) to increase on-campus employment opportunities for Asian American Studies (AAS) students. Increase knowledge of programs and resources vital to student recruitment and retention in AAS and other Ethnic Studies entities at CSUN. Enhance leadership and professional development of students interested in AAS. Facilitate interaction, collaboration and networking among students enrolled in AAS courses, AAS faculty both on- and off-campus, and community members involved in off-campus Ethnic Studies projects. Staff the Glenn Omatsu House to increase activity and access to support spaces for students interested in AAS specifically, Ethnic Studies more broadly, and cultural empowerment through intentional culturally relative programming, day-to-day campus presence, and representation.
