Food Bank & Community Park InternAt — Latino Health Access

Opportunity Summary 

The intern will attend the food bank on Fridays registering families and supporting other activities. Also attending the community park, entering and organizing the data, executing activities with children and executing community events of a social and cultural nature. The intern will implement the reading program with the children of the park.The intern will be entering data and generating reports from the food bank. The intern will need to go to LHA to organize volunteer applications, create flyers and prepare material for food bank events.

Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations for the Food bank and Park community.
Take notes and memos during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files.

Training:

Training in LHA facility program will be provided
Training in sensitive and cultural competent community approach will be provided
Learning about our programs and services

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship the student will be able to implement presentation on health disparities, engage low income community to LHA events and teamwork.
