We are offering internships for Marketing and Content Creator Assistants to grow our social media accounts to help youths and educators access our programs for social and emotional learning.

Perfect for students in search of a flexible schedule working eight hours per week with a dedicated Gen Z team and the CEO of the nonprofit Smiling Calm Hearts Open Our Learning, Inc. (SCHOOL, Inc.).

Since 2002, SCHOOL, Inc. has pioneered integrating yoga mindfulness methods in Title 1 schools. Over 1,000 public school teachers have trained with us in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Pasadena Unified School District, New York City Department of Education, and other school districts nationwide. Our program has served over 28,000 youth in the past seven years. Our curriculum meets Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Health and Physical Education State Standards.

We are seeking creative and self-motivated Marketing and Content Creator interns to produce high-quality, engaging content for our social media platforms. These roles involve working closely with our CEO to develop and execute content ideas while building effective marketing to broaden our target audience. The ideal candidates will be comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously, with a keen eye for detail and a genuine willingness to make positive changes in youths and educators.

In exchange for your time and talents, we are offering candidates free training in SCHOOL Yoga & Mindfulness, a unique and accessible yoga mindfulness practice for people who want to be influential activists for people, animals, and the earth. Free access to our digital training videos, plus lessons and talks by our primary teacher, are also included. No experience is required, only a genuine interest in building peace in our communities and schools.

Tasks:

Content Creation Interns:
• Produce captivating reel-style content tailored for various social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
• The possibility to shoot original content that aligns with our brand voice and marketing goals.
• Utilize creative & trendy filming techniques, editing skills, and storytelling optimized for social media to create content that captures our audience's attention.
• Junior or senior class-level candidates are welcome.

Marketing Interns:
• Brainstorm and develop innovative marketing ideas.
• Refine and improve content messaging to reach K-12 educators, youths, and Gen Z effectively.
• Update strategies with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media content creation and apply them to our collaborative work.
• Junior or senior class-level candidates are welcome.

Training:

To help the students achieve the learning outcomes, I will meet with them online once a week and email each week as needed to communicate our organizational needs and provide feedback on students' progress. I will also ask each student for their input on the best solution for our tasks. We will hold an online orientation meeting at the start of the project, weekly meetings, and a final meeting to review successes.
