Opportunity Summary 

Project Youth OC is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting at-promise youth in the Orange County community. Our mission is to keep at-promise youth in school, healthy and drug-free through education, counseling, mentoring, and family strengthening. Through various programs, we aim to create a brighter future for young individuals facing challenges such as poverty, academic struggles, and other socio-economic barriers. Project Youth OC is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Marketing Intern. This internship opportunity is designed for a college student who is passionate about leveraging the power of social media to make a positive impact in the community.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Familiarity with major social media platforms.
  4. Creative and innovative mindset
  5. Open to working independently
  6. Basic graphic design skills (Constant Contact, Canva, etc.) are a plus.
  7. Passion for youth empowerment and community service.

This internship offers a unique opportunity for a college student to contribute to Project Youth OC's mission, develop valuable skills in social media marketing and newsletter creation, and make a positive impact on the lives of at-promise youth in Orange County.

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

  1. Create, schedule, and manage engaging content across Project Youth OC's social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  2. Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and engage with the online community in a timely and positive manner.
  3. Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns to raise awareness of Project Youth OC's programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
  4. Develop, and design content for Project Youth OC's newsletters, ensuring a cohesive and compelling narrative that aligns with organizational goals.
  5. Coordinate with different Project Youth OC programs to gather relevant updates, success stories, and program highlights for inclusion in newsletters.
  6. Utilize email marketing tools to create and distribute newsletters to the organization's mailing list.

-Newsletter Creation: Learn the fundamentals of creating and maintaining an agency newsletter. Acquire proficiency in using email marketing tools to distribute newsletters effectively.
-Community Engagement: Develop the ability to foster and maintain positive online community engagement.
-Non-Profit Experience: Gain insight into the operations of a non-profit organization, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in the sector.
