Music Supervision InternAt — Supe Troop
The intern will be working with the small music team that oversees all creative and business administration on our projects (mostly films but sometimes other media, as well).
The internship may include (although other tasks my arise):
- Preparing documents for music supervision (including source music quote requests, confirmation letters, licenses, and final cue sheets)
- Preparing search requests to contacts at a variety of libraries, labels, managers, and other music houses
- Researching sound recording and publishing rights information
- Reviewing incoming music submissions
- Working on a fake film to practice music supervision of a whole project
Training:
- initial general orientation
- weekly participation in department meeting
- review of all tasks
- reading of proprietary manual
Learning Outcomes:
1. prepare relevant outward facing documents (such as quote requests, license requests, etc.)
2. determine who owns a song (sound recording owners/publishers)
3. have an understanding of all the different stakeholders in the process of licensing a song
