HUSR Peer Mentor-Mia SevierAt — CSUF - College of Health and Human Development
The College of Health and Human Development Peer Mentor Program promotes meaningful and successful college experiences by building partnerships between students. Trained peer mentors collaborate with their mentees to access campus resources, build support in facing obstacles, and achieve mutually constructed academic goals. Human Service Peer mentors provide encouragement to other Human Services majors who are new to campus or who would like to maximize their experiences at CSUF. Mentors are eager to give back to their fellow students in their majors by sharing their own knowledge and experiences as well as educating their mentees about college success skills including study skills, time management, and stress management. Human Services Mentor Interns work independently with approximately five mentees and maintain weekly contact with each mentee.
