Opportunity Summary 

Internship available for a student enrolled in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program at California State University, Fullerton. This internship provide an opportunity for the student to apply the skills and knowledge they have gained during their coursework. The internship will include hands-on patient care opportunities with Caltech's student-athletes while being supervised by a certified athletic trainer.

Tasks:

Students will provide direct patient care (including clinical evaluations and rehabilitation) to Chapman student-athletes and complete administrative and tasks necessary to maintain a healthcare facility.

Training:

Students will receive a clinical site orientation for Chapman's Health and Safety policies and procedures. They will receive mentorship during patient care experiences with Chapman's student-athletes under the supervision of a certified athletic trainer. Written and verbal feedback will be provided in real-time and/or during weekly one-on-one meetings.

Learning Outcome:

Students will gain an understanding of:
1. Proper application of hands-on patient care skills on patients in a clinical healthcare setting.
2. Administrative skills related to facility operations and risk management.
3. Contemporary documentation strategies for efficient communication and medical record-keeping
