Opportunity Summary 

  An Early Childhood Instructor I (ECI-I)  provides direct 1:1 intervention to children with autism and/or other developmental delays. Children range in age from approximately 12 months to 12 years old. The ECI-I carries out a systematic instructional sequence planned by and under the supervision of Program Supervisors. Specifically, the ECI-I travels to home and school sites to conduct sessions in the natural environment; conducts 1:1 teaching interactions with each child according to the lesson plans developed by Program Supervisors; collects and graphs data; interprets trends in data in relationship to the child’s progress; provides outreach services and parent education to referred families under the supervision of Program Supervisors; communicates as necessary with Program Supervisors to maintain an appropriate supply of instructional materials and to discuss the child’s progress. An ECII actively participates in training assignments, attends ongoing in-service trainings, and renders time on the company database daily without reminders.

The ECI works collaboratively with the clinical team to achieve best outcomes for the child.

Training:

The ECI participates in an intensive two week in-field training, in which they work along a trainer in the field. Once an ECI passes training, they receive ongoing support and training in the field by both the training team and licensed clinicians who oversee the child's program. The ECI participates in monthly staff meetings in which administrative and clinical trainings are provided.

Learning Outcomes:

1. The ECI will carry out systematic instructional sequence planned by and under the supervision of Program Supervisors.
2. The ECI will understand and be able to implement the components of Applied Behavior Analysis; specifically regarding collection of data and graphing, implementation of Behavior Management Protocols and adherence to teaching procedures across domains of development.
3. The ECI will implement parent consultation through coaching and modeling. The ECI will collect data as required on parent performance and participation.
4. The ECI will accurately report progress to the clinical team, both in written narrative and through collection of trial by trial data.
