The Art of Elysium

Organization Description

Founded in 1997, The Art of Elysium pairs volunteer artists with fragile communities in Los Angeles motivated by a belief that artistic practice in the context of public service is a powerful catalyst for social change. Volunteer artists deliver tailor-made programs at hospitals, community centers, senior-care facilities, schools and homeless shelters.

Health & Safety

Our arts workshops are conducted at various community partner sites such as hospitals, senior centers, schools, and community centers. While we do our best to vet and make sure the locations are safe for our staff and volunteers, we are guests in their organizations, and cannot control facilities or location safety. Students and volunteers will always be accompanied by Art of Elysium staff. Our populations can be considered vulnerable and we do our best to educate our volunteer artists and students about what they can expect and how to protect themselves and those we serve. Because of HIPPA regulations, we have strict confidentiality policies.
